  • CPRP Certification
    • WHEN WAS THE NEW CPRP CERTIFICATION APPROVED?

At the September 2019 AAPPR board meeting, the board voted to sunset the FASPR credential and to develop a new credential based on the competency model.

    • WHO DEVELOPED THE CPRP CERTIFICATION MODEL?
Nearly thirty AAPPR subject matter experts with the help of a certification consultant. This was then validated by AAPPR members and stakeholders through a survey.
    • How much does the CPRP cost?
The online CPRP certification program is $900 for eligible members and $1100 for eligible nonmembers and includes one exam. AAPPR occasionally offers in-person workshops. Pricing will be communicated in the registration information for each individual workshop.
    • Do I have to be a member of AAPPR to take the CPRP course and exam?

No, effective August 29, 2022 the new eligibility criteria to take the course and exam require:

      • • a minimum 6 months of experience in the recruitment of physicians and/or advanced practice providers, and other health care providers
      • • being currently directly employed by, or contracted to directly recruit on behalf of an organization that employs physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare providers
    • How do I earn the CPRP certification?
To become certified, you must purchase and complete the CPRP Course in the AAPPR Academy or register for an in person course, and achieve a passing score on the CPRP exam.
    • Is there a deadline for earning my CPRP Certification?
You have one year from purchase to earn your certification.
    • How much time do I have to take the exam?
      • • There is a six-hour time limit to the exam and you will not be able to return to questions.
      • • You can pause the test and come back to it, however, the clock will continue to count down the time.
      • • The system will give you the option to save your answers as you progress, and we highly recommend doing so.
      • • Please note that if you save your answers and pause or close out of the exam the questions will re-randomize. While your answers have been saved, you may not see a question you previously answered for several pages.
      • • Answers that are saved are not recorded in the system. You must submit the exam in order to have your answers permanently recorded. • Once you have submitted it there can be no changes.
      • • While it is an open-book test, codes in the back end of the system will alert us if the system detects cheating. Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic revocation of the AAPPR CPRP certification.
    • Will I receive a certificate and digital badge when I pass the exam?

Within 30 days of passing the CPRP exam, you will be issued digital badge and certificate through BadgeCert. You will be notified by email. The digital badge can be shared electronically with others via email or social media networks, and can be displayed on resumes, email signatures, job boards or anywhere across the web.

You will have the option of printing your certificate from your BadgeCert profile. After logging in to BadgeCert and accepting your badge, navigate to your Badge Portfolio. From there, view badge and click “Certificate” to download it as a printable PDF.

    • How long is my status good for upon completion?
Your credential is good for three years and must be renewed at the three-year mark.
    • How do I check my CPRP certification expiration date?

Log in to the AAPPR website and click on My Profile directly under the AAPPR logo on the top left. You will see your CPRP expiration date listed there. If you just earned your certification, it could take 4-6 weeks for your profile to be updated with your expiration date.

You can also check your expiration date by logging in to their BadgeCert account at badgecert.com. Certificates are typically available in BadgeCert within 30 days of earning or renewing your CPRP certification.

If you don’t know your BadgeCert account password, click “Request New Password” and you will receive an email with a temporary link to update your password.

    • How do I recertify, and what are the requirements?

CPRP status will be valid for three years from the date of completion. Renewal is required before your expiration date. A renewal application must be submitted along with a $25 recertification fee. The continuing education requirements to renew your CPRP certification are as follows:
