At the September 2019 AAPPR board meeting, the board voted to accept a new competency model. The board voted to sunset the FASPR credential and to develop a new credential based on the competency model.
The new model, developed over the course of a year with expertise from outside consultants and nearly thirty AAPPR subject matter experts, was validated by a survey sent to AAPPR members and stakeholders.
The new competency model will become the core curriculum for AAPPR education content delivered across all platforms, as per AAPPR’s strategic plan.
The CPRP certification will be launched at the April 2020 conference. You may register for the new certification here.
Individuals who are currently in the FASPR program will be encouraged to complete it by 12/31/2020. These individuals will be transferred to the new certification.
Select content from the 201/301 courses will be offered in-person one last time at the April 2020 conference. You may register for the course here.
The online test and fellowship modules (101, 201, 301) will be available through 12/31/2020.
All those who hold the FASPR credential and are members in good standing will automatically be transferred to the new credential.
Lapsed members will not be transferred to the new certification. Once a lapsed member renews with AAPPR, they will be eligible to take the new credential.
AAPPR is considering offering micro-credentials, but no decisions will be made until 2021 strategic planning.
There are three modules and exams to complete to receive your full credential.
Each module is $400 for AAPPR Members and $625 for Non-Members who are eligible to take the Fellowship course. You may also bundle and save! Buy all three together and save ($900 for AAPPR Members, $1,600 for eligible Non-Members).
