AAPPR Endorses Conrad State 30 Reauthorization Act: A Vital Step to Address Physician Shortages in Underserved Areas

AAPPR supports the reintroduction of the bipartisan Conrad State 30 and Physician Access Reauthorization Act. This critical legislation helps alleviate physician shortages by allowing international medical graduates to remain in the U.S. and practice in underserved communities after completing their residency. This program is essential to upholding and expanding access to care, particularly in rural and underserved areas that struggle to attract and retain doctors. Strengthening the physician pipeline is more important than ever, and passing this bill would be a meaningful step toward ensuring patients get the care they need.
