The Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) Certification is an excellent investment in your career. Not only does it set you on the pathway to lifelong learning, but it also establishes your expertise among your colleagues in a highly specialized field. Don’t miss this opportunity to join an elite group of professionals who are leaders in the physician and provider recruitment profession with this nationally recognized certification.
Successful completion of the CPRP program will demonstrate your expertise in the entire recruitment continuum from sourcing through onboarding and retention, the ability to use data for strategic decision making, the basics of workforce planning and the use of effective communication to create successful business relationships.
• A minimum 6 months of experience in the recruitment of physicians and/or advanced practice providers and other health care providers
• Are currently directly employed by, or contracted to directly recruit on behalf of, an organization that employs physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare providers
Your CPRP credential will be valid for three years from the date you pass the exam. Renewal will be required every three years thereafter to maintain use of the credential.
The following criteria must be met to complete your CPRP renewal:
• Obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education (CE) during the three-year period since you earned or previously renewed your certification. The content of the education must align with the AAPPR Competency Model.
• Submit CPRP recertification application with $25 payment before the expiration date
You can complete the required continuing education credits at your convenience during the 3-year certification period. AAPPR credits (from annual conferences, webinars, etc.) are automatically added to your transcription in your Academy Dashboard on a monthly basis. You may log continuing education credits from AAPPR roundtables and programs sponsored by other organizations (such as your local Affiliate) as you earn them. See the FAQ “How do I add AAPPR-approved CE credits to my transcript?” for details.
Certificants are provided a 90-day grace period following their expiration date in which they can renew without penalty. After the grace period, renewal applications will not be accepted, and the credential will be revoked. Certificants will be required to take the examination again (for a fee) in order to re-earn the credential.
Those who have taken the Diversity Recruitment Micro-Credential course and passed the exam must obtain 3 hours in education (in addition to the 24 hours outlined above) related to diversity, equity and inclusion within a broader human resources lens, including content specific to physicians and providers.
Those who have earned the CPRP-DEI certification within one year of their CPRP renewal date are exempt from earning the additional 3 DEI-related education credits until their next renewal cycle.
Hours of continuing education may be obtained through:
• Attending the AAPPR Annual Conference
• Viewing AAPPR webinars, either live or on demand through our Academy
• Attending educational programs, conferences, webinars, etc. from any organization that provides educational content in alignment with the AAPPR Competency Model
No more than half (12) hours of the following activities may be used for certification renewal:
• Writing an article in a book, journal, or newsletter (every article eligible for 1 CEU)
• Presenting content in alignment with the AAPPR Competency Model to professionals (for every 1 hour of content = 1.5 CEU)
• Participating in an hour-long AAPPR virtual roundtable (up to a total of three CEUs per year)
• Serving as a mentor or mentee with another physician/provider recruitment professional from a different organization or through the Mentor Match program (up to a total of six CEUs per three-year renewal period)
• A separate mentorship form must be completed, signed by both parties, and submitted
See the FAQ “How do I add AAPPR-approved CE credits to my transcript” for details.
